Our Week in Review!
This week, our Farm Share Quincy facility celebrates seven years of distributing free food to over fifteen counties in the Panhandle of Florida!
On May 10th 2010, Farm Share opened our Quincy Facility in Gadsden County! Since it’s inception in 2010, Farm Share Quincy has distributed over 50 million pounds of food. With over 300 partner agencies picking up fresh food from our Quincy facility on a weekly basis, we hit a record mark of distributing over 8 million pounds in 2016 and are on track to beating that number for 2017!
What an incredible journey! Thank you to our Quincy staff, partners, volunteers, and supporters! We couldn’t do it without you all!
STAMP OUT HUNGER:
This weekend, the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) leads the nation’s largest one-day food drive – Stamp Out Hunger.
Letter carriers across the country collect nonperishable canned and boxed foods such as cereals, dry milk, cereal bars and instant food. Once collected, the food is distributed locally to food banks.
Farm Share is pleased to announce that we will be receiving donations in participation of the 25th Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive! Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) will partner with Farm Share to help sort and pack donated items to be distributed to those in need.
