When Disaster Strikes, We’re First on the Scene
Fires, hurricanes, floods, or pandemics; disasters don’t wait, and neither do we. Farm Share mobilizes quickly to bring critical food, water, and supplies to communities across Florida. With a proven network of partners, volunteers, and logistics expertise, we are ready to respond during emergencies, so families in the state have the support they need. We are also part of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).


Before the Disaster: Preparedness in Action
Preparation saves lives. Farm Share works to prepare and strengthen communities against disasters.
Strategic Hurricane distribution events: At the start of hurricane season, Farm Share takes proactive steps to help communities prepare before disaster strikes.
Strategic Hurricane preparedness distributions: we pre-stage and share essential food and supplies to help families be ready for emergencies. These events allow us to position critical resources in advance, ensuring faster support when it’s needed most.
After the Disaster:
Our commitment continues after the immediate crisis. Farm Share ensures communities have the resources to recover and rebuild:
Community Coordination: We partner with local agencies, shelters, and volunteers to ensure food and relief reaches our communities.
Through follow-up distributions, ongoing support, and community engagement, we help neighborhoods regain stability and resilience.


Real Impact
2023 Broward floods, Hurricane Idalia and tornadoes:
We were on the scene within 24 hours, delivering food, water, and essentials.essentials, and hope.
2024 Hurricanes Milton and Helene:
We distributed over 7 million pounds of food and supplies in the first 2 weeks after landfall.
How You Can Prepare
Preparedness matters. Here’s how you, your family, and your community can get ready:

Hurricane season in the Atlantic (which includes the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea, and Gulf of Mexico) runs from: June 1 to November 30.

The peak of hurricane season is: Mid-August through late October, with the absolute peak typically around September 10.
