Miami Marlins, Florida Blue and Farm Share fight food insecurity together!

The Miami Marlins Foundation and Florida Blue sponsored a Farm Share semi-truck this year in order to deliver 5 million pounds of food in 2022. The co-branded semi-truck travels throughout Florida delivering much needed food to warehouses and events in order to give food to those in need.

Founded in 1991, Farm Share has been providing life sustaining food to hungry families, children, seniors and individuals from Pensacola to Key West for more than 30 years. Last fiscal year, Farm Share distributed over 118 million pounds of healthy and nutritious produce, non-perishable food products, canned goods, proteins and dairy to nearly all of Florida’s 67 counties.

After an unprecedented 2020 in which we encountered a worldwide pandemic, never before seen government shut in orders and skyrocketing unemployment, supply chain issues and food shortages, it was hoped that 2021 would get things moving back to normal. Unfortunately, 2021 brought much of the same but added to its list of challenges record levels of inflation. Florida Blue and the Miami Marlins are committed partners with farm Share in fighting food insecurity in Florida.
